Diversity + Inclusion
Diversity and Inclusion is an ongoing journey, and we are committed to continuously improving our culture.
United by a Shared Purpose
Our goal is to continuously improve and sustain an inclusive culture in which diversity provides deeper customer insights and creates a competitive advantage in the markets we serve. By attracting, developing and engaging the best team of diverse and empowered associates, we help realize life’s potential for ourselves, our customers and our shareholders.
Standing Up for Human Rights
Danaher is committed to upholding the dignity of every person and supporting efforts to protect human rights around the world. This commitment is consistent with our Shared Purpose and our Core Values. We codify this commitment in our Code of Conduct and track our progress in our annual Sustainability Report.
While governments play a lead role in ensuring human rights for their citizens, we believe corporations also have an important duty to operationalize human rights in daily interactions with associates, customers and business partners. We strive to be a responsible corporate citizen and to contribute positively to human rights impacts in the way we run our company.
It is our workplace policy to comply with all applicable laws pertaining to fair employment practices, freedom of association, privacy, collective bargaining, immigration, working time, wages and hours as well as laws prohibiting forced labor, compulsory labor, child labor, employment discrimination and human trafficking. We do not tolerate the abuse of human rights in our operations.
Another part of being a good corporate citizen is contributing to the communities where we live and work. To that end, Danaher has accelerated our global D+I efforts and taken a more visible position on matters of social justice, which we view as congruent to our position on human rights.
While it may not be feasible for our company to respond to each incident of documented hate or racist behavior, Danaher condemns this behavior and acknowledges the immense toll it takes on our Black, Asian, Latinx and other under-represented associates. It is morally wrong and unjust.
As we've increased our voice around social justice, we have been absent from political discussions. At Danaher, we do not view this as our role. For the past 10 years, neither Danaher nor our OpCos have contributed any money to or for any political party or candidate, any ballot measure or any public communication that expressly advocates the election or defeat of a political candidate. And, we have no intention of doing so in the future. We understand that the lines of human rights and politics can sometimes blur. We support our associates who may be impacted by political actions and respect those who choose to speak out in opposition to these actions. We believe in the right of associates to participate in the political process and encourage our associates to be active in charitable and political activities important to them.
We sincerely hope that our marginalized and underrepresented associates feel supported and a sense of belonging here. We will continue to do what we can to make Danaher an even better place to work every day and strive for a just and equal society in which every person can realize their life’s potential.
