Danaher Corporation is proud to partner with Cycle for Survival again in 2019. Cycle for Survival is a non-profit organization that hosts indoor cycling events to raise money for rare cancer research.
About half of all cancer patients are fighting rare cancers, which includes brain, pancreatic, ovarian, thyroid, and stomach cancers; leukemia and lymphoma; all pediatric cancers; and many others. Cycle for Survival directly allocates 100% of funds raised to Memorial Sloan Kettering within six months of the cycling events to fund innovative research and clinical trials that will help fight rare cancers.
In partnership with Cycle for Survival, Danaher associates have raised an astounding $914,942 for this cause over the past four years. Through this partnership, the collective impact of these funds includes:
- FDA approval of a revolutionary new cancer treatment designed to outsmart a specific genetic mutation within a tumor
- Researchers at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center pioneered a promising new approach to diagnosing and treating brain tumors, using a liquid biopsy program that analyzes spinal fluid to monitor cancer growth and recurrence
- Supporting the day-to-day operating costs of MSK-IMPACT, a gene sequencer that analyzes 468 cancer-associated genes with the goal of matching patients with drugs targeting their mutation
This year, Danaher 134 associates participated in cycling events hosted by Danaher Operating Companies across the United States, showing their commitment to Helping Realize Life’s Potential by beating rare cancers.
In total, the Cycle for Survival community raised an astounding $42,012,869 for rare cancer research in 2019. Learn more about the organization HERE.
