PRESENTER INFORMATION
Larry Culp, President and CEO, Danaher Corporation
Mr. Culp has been President and CEO of Danaher since May 2001. Mr. Culp has played a key role in the creation of the Company's strategic vision as well as in the development and application of the Danaher Business System. During Mr. Culp's tenure, Danaher's revenues have tripled to more than $13 billion and the Company's market capitalization has increased almost three-fold to more than $26 billion. Mr. Culp began his Danaher career in 1990 at Veeder-Root where he became President in 1993. He subsequently became a Group Executive and Corporate Officer in 1995 where he had primary leadership responsibility for Danaher's Environmental and Electronic Test businesses. In 1999 he was appointed Executive Vice President and became Chief Operating Officer in 2000. Prior to joining Danaher, Mr. Culp held positions with Accenture. Mr. Culp is a member of the Board of Directors for GlaxoSmithKline, plc. and on the Board of Visitors and Governors for Washington College. Mr. Culp earned his B.A. from Washington College and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
Dan Comas, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Comas became Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in April 2005. Mr. Comas joined Danaher in 1991 in the Corporate Development organization. In 1996, he was appointed Vice President, Corporate Development, responsible for Danaher's merger and acquisition activities, and in 1999 was given additional responsibility for the corporate treasury function. In April 2004, Dan was appointed Senior Vice President, Finance and Corporate Development, and assumed further responsibility for legal services and corporate risk management.
Mr. Comas received his undergraduate degree in Economics from Georgetown University and his MBA from Stanford University.
Tom Joyce, Executive Vice President
Mr. Joyce was appointed Executive Vice President in 2006. Mr. Joyce began his career at Danaher in 1989 as a Project Manager in the Danaher Tool Group. In 1995, Mr. Joyce became President of Delta Consolidated Industries, a Danaher Company based in Raleigh, NC; and in 2001, Mr. Joyce became President of Hach/Lange. He was appointed Group Executive in 2002 with responsibility for Water Quality.
Mr. Joyce earned his bachelor's degree in Economics from the College of the Holy Cross.
Jon Clark, President Hach Lange
In 2002, Mr. Clark joined Danaher as the Vice President of Global Marketing for Hach Company in Loveland, CO. In August of 2005, as part of his general management career path, he transitioned to a manufacturing position as Operations Manager in order to broaden his knowledge and experience in manufacturing and the Danaher Business System. In 2006, Mr. Clark was named President, Hach Americas and Asia. In 2007, he was named to his current position as President, Hach Lange with responsibility for the Hach, Hach Lange, Lachat, OTT, Hydrolab, and Sigma product lines worldwide. In May 2008, he was given the added responsibility for Hach Ultra Analytics, which is focused on the water analytics for electronics, pharmaceutical, beverage, and power markets.
Prior to Danaher, Mr. Clark held increasingly responsible positions with Newell Company, Black and Decker, Teledyne and Ingersoll Rand.
Mr. Clark earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Buffalo in Buffalo, NY in 1982.
Marvin DeVries, President Trojan Technologies
In 2004, Mr. DeVries joined Danaher as President of Trojan Technologies, a position he has held since 2003. Mr. DeVries has dedicated the majority of his career to various leadership roles at Trojan. From 1993 to 2003, Mr. DeVries served as Executive Vice President providing global leadership for the Sales, Marketing and Customer Service activities of the company. Prior to that, Mr. DeVries was a Sales and Marketing Manager responsible for expanding the company's global sales and marketing teams and market channel networks. He began his career as a Professional Engineer working on water-related and infrastructure development projects in Bangladesh, India and Haiti.
Mr. DeVries earned a B.S. in Engineering with a specialization in hydrological engineering from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada, and a Masters in Engineering with a specialization in water and wastewater treatment from University of Western Ontario.
John Nygren, President ChemTreat
In 2007, John Nygren joined Danaher as President and CEO of ChemTreat, a position he has held since 2000. Mr. Nygren has over thirty-five years of industrial water treatment experience, having joined ChemTreat in 1976 as Manager of Technical Services. He has held various positions in research, engineering, and technical support over his career including Technical Director and Vice President of Technology.
Prior to his work at ChemTreat Mr. Nygren held positions of technical management at Hercules Inc in Wilmington, DE and Drew Chemical Corp in Boonton, NJ.
Mr. Nygren is a member of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers, The Cooling Technology Institute (past Legionella Committee Chairman) and AICHE. He sits on the external advisory board to the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Chemical Engineering. He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY.
Andy Wilson, Vice President Investor Relations
In March 2003, Mr. Wilson was appointed Vice President Investor Relations. Mr. Wilson joined Danaher in 1997 as Vice President, Finance, for the Instrument and Control Group. Subsequently he was appointed Vice President of Finance for the Motion Control Group, assuming this role with the Group's inception in August 2000. From 2002 until 2003, Mr. Wilson was Vice President, Business Development for a diverse group of Danaher businesses including Motion Control and Product Identification.
Prior to joining Danaher, Mr. Wilson held progressively responsible assignments in both public accounting and private sector financial assignments with AlliedSignal, PepsiCo and KPMG Peat Marwick.
Mr. Wilson received his B.B.A in Accounting from Baylor University, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
